Summer has officially started, and what better way to start it by making something unique!! I have been wanting to make my own tie dye shirt for a few years now, but wasn't sure on how and when to do it. Somehow, my past summers have been filled with things more important...
But, I am getting my diploma in a few days, meaning I no longer have that to worry about that! When I told my friends I wanted to make the shirts, they were excited and wanted to make one themselves :)
So, after getting all the goodies (which was a lot more than I thought I would need), we looked up some video's on YouTube (what is there not to find on the internet!!) looking for patterns and a step-by-step guide.
TIME TO START CRAFTING!!!
White T-shirts, sprayed with water |
We had four different dyes in the colours bright pink, bright green, blue and yellow. We added water to the dyes and put the dye on sections off the shirt, creating the patterns.
All the shirts were dyed and put in foil to set the paint. The time depends on the kind of paint you use. |
The ones we used were from 'DecorFin Textile' |
It did get a little messy... |
