Blue

I am wearing:
Blazer - H&M || Shirt - Primark || Jeans - H&M || Shoes - China Girl (no longer available)
Nailpolish - Essie 'twin sweater set'

Hello everyone!!

For some reason, winter always makes me want to wear bright colours and bright shoes. This pair for example! It is the complete opposite of shoes that you can wear when it's freezing outside. Confession: I want to...

So, when the sun was shining, I went on with it and paired it with my favourite basic pieces. The outfit itself is warm enough for Winter wear, (again) the shoes are not. Obviously ;)

I really like that the shoes can completely lift the whole outfit, because the colour is very bold.

I originally bought them for my graduation ball, but I couldn't really show them off there because of my long dress. It made me feel really tall (I think the heel alone is 6cm?!) and I was pretty comfortable the whole time! The sand wasn't that nice, but once I got inside it was good :)

I have been getting into brighter shoes (with heels) lately, buying a pair of sneaker heels last November and these beauties in June last year! It's a nice contrast to my grey and black converse shoes.

Are you a converse of heel kind of girl?

1 Top, 10 Outfits

Hii everyone!!!
A few months ago I posted an outfit from when I went out to dinner with my family. I got a great response, and got inspired for this post! I used the same top, and put together 10 outfits for a few different occasions. With each oufit, I will explain where and why I would wear it. Enjoy!!

I am wearing
H&M Jeans | Primark Fluffy socks
I would wear this outfit for casual. I would wear this when I don't have anything planned, and I am doing things around the house. I would also wear this when I go to friends, putting on a coat or vest. In summer I wear this with my red Vans, or with a bright coloured sneaker.

HEMA leggings | Adidas Shoes | H&M Blazer | SIXX Necklace
This is a bit more formal, but not too much. Personally, I do not feel very comfortable when I have to 'dress to impress'. I would wear this to a birthday party for family or friends. I like to pair this with a low shoe, or with ankle boots. If you don't feel comfortable wearing leggings, you can also wear this with a dark washed jeans or black trousers.
H&M pants

I would wear this to school or when I am going out. I like wearing the top with a different colour than black (although this happens most of the time...) I would also wear the top inside of the pants, because the pants is a bit higher than normal. This makes your legs look a bit longer and slimmer :)

This is another casual outfit. I wear this when I go shopping. When I go shopping, I always make sure I wear multiple layers. This prevents me from having to wait in line for the dressings rooms, but still feeling comfortable for trying on clothes in the store.

H&M buisness Skirt
I would wear this to a jon interview. I would wear this for a serious job. I personally try to stay away from pairing gray with the top, but I think this combination works because the skirt is the eye catcher. This outfit is more mature, but when your dream job is on the line, looking more serious might be a good thing.
If you are not very confident about showing your legs (or slept in and forgot to shave) you can wear thights or a panty under. I would go for a skin toned panty with 60 denier, or a black one with 20 denier.

HEMA cardigan | American Appearal pants | Zign Sneakers with heels
This is more of a statement outfit. It's bold, and maybe a little risky. The risky thing about wearing this out is that people will look. Where I live, the pants are too high, and wearing it with a shirt tucked in, you are asking them to look at it. Which is exactly the reason why I bought it when I was in London :) I usually play it save with clothes, but have been trying to step out of my comfort zone. And let's not forget that the fabric is elastic, so it's pretty much a fancy pyjamapants.
I am not sure when I would wear this. Maybe a birthday or when I am going somewhere more stylish.

Jane Normann Skirt
I would also wear this to a job interview for a creative job. It's a 'formal' outfit, but it's not to adult-ish (great way to describe it!). I am only seventeen, so dressing for a serious occaison should also be fun! I would wear a longer blazer over it, falling just over the hip. Again, if you are not very confident about showing leg, you can wear this with a panty.

ONLY basic skirt. I do not know what happened to the bottom of the picture here...
I would wear this to work. We have a dress code, which is black with a bit white and it has to be professional, but still you. When it becomes colder outside, I am leaning more towards wearing leggings instead of jeans (If you are like me, there are leggings with fleece on the market).

GAP shorts | Primark leggings
I would wear this to a theme party. I would never wear this normally, but sometimes you have to be a bit crazy and pair things that don't really go together. Like a striped top and leggings with dots... You can wear this in summer without leggings or with a 20 denier panty in black.

Primark cardigan
This is totally a house outfit. A big knitted cardigan paired with comfortable leggings and top. I prefer wearing a top without sleeves when I wear a cardigan, so this top is perfect! You can wear this when you go out, but personally it's a bit too casual for me for going out.

As you can see, I am a very lazy person when it comes to clothing, and the most important thing to me is to wear what you are comfotable in wearing! Fashion to me is all about having fun, but still being yourself :)

What is your favourite outfit? Are you more of a casual kind of person or do you prefer a more classy look?

Winter 2013 | Lookbook

Happy Friday everyone!!
The sunny days are over, rain and wind and cold is approaching fast. I used to think Summer was my favourite season, but Autumn and Winter might win it this year!!
I had a lot of free time lately, giving me the opportunity to check out as many fashion shows as I could :)
Along with this, I decided to make a 'Winter Lookbook' with it!

I tried to keep it as basic as possible, hoping a lot of you can get inspired for winter clothing.

Sweater - Primark & Jeans - H&M
Oversized clothing is the new 'it'. And sweaters are always nice :) I paired it with a dark washed jeans for a simple but classic and comfortable look.

Cardigan - Primark
Blue is the headlining colour for this winter.

Top - Only | Jeans - H&M | Scarf - local boutique
Denim is also a trend that is coming back. Paring a denim top with a jean is getting more popular every season. For this look I paired it with a long sleeved white top, and a bright coloured scarf, which is another winter trend :)

Top - Only | Skirt - H&M | Legging - HEMA | Cardigan - C&A | Scarf - Only
A classic black and white look for everyday wear.
Cardigan - Primark
I love pairing a very basic legging and top with something different. Ombre was more of a summer trend, but I loved this knitted vest and I couldn't not buy it!! I think it makes the whole look a bit more sophisticated, without really putting in a lot more effort than normal ;)

Hope this made you a little bit more excited for the cold weather!

Love, Danielle
PS. What is your favourite season and why?

Monthly Favourites | August

This month I have been using a lot of different products, and I've liked a few more than others! I also put a bit of summer in this now that September has come and the cold weather is approaching. So let's take a look at some of my favourites from this past month :)

WELLA flex hairspray #3.
I've found this hairspray again. I had been using it a lot before I donated my hair last year September but stopped using it after. Now that my hair is becoming longer, I find myself using it a lot more often again!! I like that you can spray as much as you want in your hair, I spray it on my arm from about 25 cm, it doesn't get really hard. It holds, but it's not visible. At the end of the day, I comb it out and shape it back the next day without adding more hairspray. I use this spray when I curled my hair or to hide fly-away's on the top of my head.

Nivea Hydrating and Cleaning Mask for dry or sensitive skin.
I use this as my third step when I take my make-up off. I put on this mask 3 times or week, and let it sit for 10 minutes. The packing says 5 minutes, but I've found that leaving it on for longer makes my skin feel really soft in the morning. The creamy texture with tiny scrub-balls feels very nice and it's easy to cover your skin. I personally like to use a lot when I put it on, but two or three fingertips is enough for a normal skin type.
It's never been tested what kind of type my skin is, I just prefer products (in some cases) for dry skin because it's more gentle in use. (And you can skip a few days if you're not feeling like sticking to your daily routine!!) I would not recommend using the product if you have little wounds in your face, because it will itch and feel like your face is on fire. (Zits or spots are not a problem! It may calm your skin, preventing new ones to pop out.)

Dove Original Deodorant Spray.
I've been absolutely loving my spray's on hot days. (I've read that it's not very good for your health breathing them in :( ) On holiday there were a few days where we were walking or going somewhere, and there was no stopping in sweating. I've been carrying a travel-sized deodorant with me in my backpack, and I've felt fresher instantly! This one smells really fresh, and has Vitamin E, making my skin feel extremely soft. The travel-sized one sadly is still somewhere between France and Italy, but as soon as I got back home I purchased a bigger bottle!

Dove nourishing hand cream.
Another product by Dove I've enjoyed this month. I've used this hand cream whilst I was on the train to France (dry air is not the best way to leave your hands in for four hours), and on the trains (a total of 10 hours of traveling) and plane home. My hand have never been the most moisturized, and being in situations with dry air sometimes makes my hands feel like they are about to break. Putting on a little bit of this (intense) nourishing cream has helped a lot whilst traveling this summer. I've also found that my hands have been warmer and have gotten less paper cuts or other cuts when I was using the hand cream.

Vape Derm Herbal: After Bite Stick.
This Italian product has 'saved' my life. The night before leaving France, I was stung by mosquitoes. Not just a few, say... 36 times. My legs were covered and it would not stop itching and burning (allergic reaction). As soon as we arrived in Italy we found a store and bought this stick. It instantly calmed down my skin and the itch was getting less and less by day. No more red bumps covering my legs :) !!! I've used this for a total of 7 days before my legs were not itching anymore, which to me is a short period of time thinking about all the bumps I've had.

OPIA Vanilla Pod Candle from Primark.
When I got home, I came home in an empty house. Not the most happy and comfortable setting to face, but before leaving I got my hands on some scented candles from Primark. One of them turned out to be amazing (I once fell asleep with it because of the relaxation (or exhaustion...))!! The first Vanilla candle is coming to an end, lasting me for over 4 weeks of every night scents, and that for a Primark product and price!! (nothing bad on Primark products!!) I've been using this in my bedroom or the living room, and after blowing the candle out, the room is left with a nice vanilla scent :)

Local Market Bracelets.
Our campsite held a market for locals every Monday and Thursday. On this market were salesman from the area, selling their fruits and vegetables. And of course, for the tourists mostly, their figurines, necklaces, rings and bracelets. I am quite the bracelet person, wearing them with as much as possible and all together on one arm. My friend and I wanted to get something as a memory of this summer, and we both bought the purple one (she got it in red, but the same design). The other two I purchased at the same market, but a few days later. They had caught my eye, but I was not planning on buying them. Until the next day... I waited for Thursday and they were still available :)

I hope you liked this months favourites!! Leave a comment below telling me your favourites from August, I always love reading them and am always up for trying new products!!

Love, Danielle

Summer 2013 | Lookbook

Another summer post! As this blog is about fashion and beauty, let's stick with that for this post :)
Last week, I took advantage of the amazing weather and shot a few looks I am wearing this summer. Enjoy!

Shirt - Primark & Short - Forever 21. As you can see in the picture,
the short folds very quickly, ironing only works on a high temperature.

Top - HEMA & Skirt - Forever 21. I would wear this for anything.
The skirt is a thin fabric and flows very nicely in the wind. I wear this with a nice cardigan
or blazer. I tend to wear long necklaces with it, ending just above the skirt.
Top - TopShop & Short - GAP. I like wearing crop tops they tend to be very thin,
which is nice in summer and are (most of the time) long enough to still look decent ;)
I would wear this to dinner, a nice top but not too hot. I also close all buttons and put on a necklace,
making the look a bit more fancy. Wearing a big, catchy ring will give it an extra 'fancy boost'
Sweater - H&M & Short - GAP. This is an outfit to wear later on the day, when it's a little colder.
The sweater is not very thick which makes it good for evening wear.
Dress - Forever 21. I like to wear this dress later on the day or when I'm going to the beach.
You can dress it up or just wear it like pictured. I like to wear this with a big short necklace and a
lot of bracelets. For daytime I pair it with sandals, at night with high heels.
